Judge Helen Voutsinas is currently sitting in the Nassau County District Court since taking office in January of 2011. She has presided over the DWI Part since July of 2015. Prior to the DWI Part she served as the presiding judge of the Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Part from January 2012 to 2015
Prior to being elected to the Bench she served as a Court Attorney/Principal Law Clerk for the six years with experience in the Family Court, Supreme Court and County Court. Experience in specialized parts, such as Domestic Violence and Judicial Diversion(Drug) Parts.
She also served as Deputy Majority Counsel to the Nassau County Legislature, Deputy Town Attorney for the Town of North Hempstead and in private practice. She is a graduate of St. John’s Law School, St. John’s University with a BS in Accounting and Our Lady of Mercy Academy.
